Good morning. Google just added Veo 3.1 video generation to Google Vids. Any Google account. 10 generations per month. No subscription needed. Have you tried it yet? Hit reply and tell me.

If you're new here, this is where we cover what's actually working in AI video before everyone else finds out. The full breakdown and tutorial is below.

🎬 Google Vids Now Generates AI Video for Everyone

Google added Veo 3.1 to Google Vids this week. Any Google account can now generate 8-second video clips from a text prompt or image. 10 generations per month at no cost. AI Pro gets 50. Ultra gets 1,000. Go to google vids and start generating right now.

They also added directable AI avatars powered by Veo 3.1. You can place them in scenes, have them interact with products and props, and customize their outfits and mood. Plus custom music generation with Lyria 3, a Chrome screen recording extension, and direct YouTube export. This went from a Workspace presentation tool to a legitimate AI video studio overnight.

A Mystery Model Just Dethroned Seedance 2.0

A model called HappyHorse-1.0 appeared out of nowhere on the Artificial Analysis Video Arena and went straight to #1 in both text-to-video and image-to-video. It beat Seedance 2.0 by nearly 60 Elo points. No launch event. No blog post. No company name attached.

The community traced it back to Zhang Di, former VP of Kuaishou and the person who built Kling AI. He's now leading a team at Alibaba's Taotian Group. The model is 15 billion parameters, generates video and audio in a single pass, and the team says it will be fully open-sourced. GitHub and weights are listed as "coming soon." Worth watching closely.

Generate Your First AI Video in Google Vids

Created with Google Vids Veo 3.1

  1. In this example we will create an AI product video using Google Vids. Go to google vids click on Veo on the right panel and select Avatar to open a library of actors you can choose from.

  1. Inside the avatar library choose a character that you want to use for your video. All avatars come with their own voice.

  1. Attach a product image you want the avatar to hold or demonstrate. In this example we uploaded an image of a green tote bag.

  1. Add a prompt describing the scene and what the avatar does with the tote bag and hit generate. Prompt: After wearing youthful clothing walking along a luxury beach club carrying the tote. Bright, vibrant summer vibes with fluid natural movement.
